Transferring Credit to À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ
In general, the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ grants credit for courses that are:
- Earned in degree-granting institutions accredited by a
- Comparable in character, content, and quality to courses offered at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ
- Completed with a minimum grade of “C”
- Listed on the source institution’s official transcript with course numbers, titles, grades, and credit values that are consistent with the institution’s general catalog
As a reminder:
- Online courses in foreign languages, including those taught in a hybrid format, must be reviewed and approved by foreign language faculty before credits can transfer.
- Asynchronous foreign language courses will not be eligible for transfer credit.
- Hybrid lab science courses that include synchronous in-person examinations and laboratory components would follow the traditional credit evaluation process;
- Fully online lab science courses are only transferable for generic non-lab credit.
- When taking laboratory science courses, both the lecture and laboratory sections must be included in the same semester to receive equivalent credit at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.

New À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Students
Current À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Students
Credit
- Transfer credit is awarded in semester hours;
- Grades from your previous institution(s) do not transfer;
- Courses are considered either equivalent to courses at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ (same department and number as in the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ catalog) or generic (same department but with a 5-digit number assigned that begins with the number 9, as in 91000, 92000, etc.).

Courses taken while in high school:
If you have participated in a concurrent or dual enrollment program while in high school, official transcripts should be sent to the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ directly by the participating college or university. Credit will be considered for transfer, but some restrictions can apply. Mathematics courses taken below the calculus level are submitted to faculty for review on a case by case basis. In addition, online laboratory science courses are not transferable. À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ considers all courses completed in partnership programs for transfer credit in keeping with standards.
À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Early College Experience (ECE) Credit:
Students who have taken À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ ECE courses and now attend À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ as an undergraduate student will automatically have their non-degree work (pending classes) from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ ECE noted on the non-degree portion of their official À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ transcript. Students must meet with their academic advisors in order to elect to accept or reject credit earned through À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Early College Experience to the degree portion of the academic record. If you enrolled in courses at a Connecticut college or university, or took AP courses or IB courses in high school, many equivalencies can be viewed online. Courses from other institutions or courses not listed on this site will be evaluated by our staff and faculty when a student has completed the application for admission and submits official transcripts from previous institutions.
