Mark La Branche has announced plans to retire from his current role effective June 30. The ݮƵ System will name an interim chancellor in mid-June and launch a search for La Branche’s replacement later this year.
The ݮƵ System is on a mission to paint the state orange with its “Everywhere You Look, ݮƵ” campaign. Morgan County just became home to ݮƵ’s 26th mural, the third water tower of the campaign.
The Tennessee General Assembly has passed its FY22-23 budget, which includes funding for student scholarships, salary increases for higher education employees, plus millions in new investments within the ݮƵ System.

Meeting for the first time at the new ݮƵ Southern campus, the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees approved a zero percent tuition increase for the ݮƵ Health Science Center (ݮƵHSC) for FY 2022-23.
Lybrand, currently associate vice chancellor for treasury at the University of North Texas System, was selected following a national search. The ݮƵ Board of Trustees will consider Lybrand’s appointment during its Feb. 25 meeting.
The ݮƵ Board of Trustees Executive Committee met Friday morning and received a year-end review of significant achievements from ݮƵ System President Randy Boyd.
Trustees approved ݮƵ System President Randy Boyd’s recommendation that Peter F. Buckley be appointed as the next chancellor of ݮƵHSC. Buckley’s appointment is effective Feb. 1, 2022.
